When we view clothing we think of brand names that cost a lot in department stores or maybe even the type that famous actors and actresses wear. We do not spend much time thinking about how these clothes are made except for the fact that it requires a lot of hand stitching. Some articles of clothing, especially children's, are almost entirely handmade due to the size of the material.

Handmade children's clothing is a process that takes quite a bit of time and labour. Sadly the people who make this clothing usually are from undeveloped countries and are not compensated enough for their work.

Not all children's clothing is produced this way however. There are some that are produced by sophisticated machines, these are usually more expensive simply due to the process that it requires.

Of course there are always the people who like to knit. Most people usually have a grandparent that likes to knit and will often receive simple socks and shirts as a gift.

Knitting is an art that our society needs to hang onto because it can produce some of the best children’s clothing. There is no better feeling than seeing your child or grandchildren wear a piece of clothing that you produced yourself. Some people even knit clothing and other small pieces of material to make a profit.
